Since the 1960’s to 1970’s, large companies have developed their computing infrastructures using hardware infrastructures called IBM mainframe. In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, new technologies began emerging thus enabling companies to diversify their deployment strategies. At the time many predicted that the IBM mainframe infrastructures would disappear towards the end of the 90’s. Not only did this never take place, but with the growth of data volumes and processing loads along with the democratization of the web, the needs of developed countries with regards to mainframe infrastructures are no longer declining. According to IBM, the number of mainframes is currently relatively stable and the number of "mips" required by the customers is growing strongly. The largest rail transport company in North America is calling on our services to provide support services for all CA IDMS  environments on a 24/7 basis. We are the level one and level two support for all mission-critical problems related to all CA IDMS environments in accordance with pre-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) established with this customer.
We are also in charge of interfacing with Computer Associates tech support at CA Technologies for the resolution of level 3 problems and applying the recommended hot fixes provided by CA Technologies.
We are also in charge of keeping the CA IDMS environment up-to-date by applying the appropriate software hot fixes and we ensure that all new CA IDMS releases are in line with CA Technologies and the client’s support policy.  We have migrated the CA IDMS environments from release 12 to the current release 17.
We are responsible for the performance monitoring and tuning of all CA IDMS databases (DBA role) and all CA IDMS central version environments (DCA role) at all times. The Hera Evolution DBAs maintain the CA IDMS databases while the Hera Evolution DCAs maintain the IDMS central versions environments.
With regards to the application development teams, our DBA team provides support to the development teams.
We are involved in verifying and testing disaster recovery procedures for all CA IDMS environments for this customer.
All of the above activities are performed from our “remote support facilities” as per Hera Evolution’s business model.
Occasionally and in according to customer requirements our experts may provide on-site support services (i.e. Meetings, DR testing, etc.).

The Executive Director Jean Guilbault, in charge of marketing and sales at Hera Evolution, knows how to earn his customers’ trust.  He has built a loyal and devoted clientèle and has devoted himself, day after day, in drawing the interest of new leads by showing them that he is very well aware of the problems that they are faced with. It must be underlined that he has himself worked at the technical level for several years. With over 40 years of experience, it is a valuable resource in his field!

Daniel Bureau previously worked as a CA IDMS environment consultant for the CGI firm.  Then, he managed an IDMS database team of administrators at CAE Electronics. Thanks to his 40 years of experience in software, the senior advisor Mathieu Pageau is a genuine resource with regards to the maintenance and the optimization of IDMS databases.
He is very familiar with the 4-gl Uniface application development tool. He is in fact the main advisor for performance issues and assistance in the development of this tool.

After having worked in several countries, Joseph Mele is back in Canada where he currently holds the position of senior advisor for Hera Evolution. His 30 years of experience, his autonomy, his  speed in delivery and his and versatility surely make certainly a great asset for its customers.

At Hera Evolution, he is in charge of the consultation with regard to architecture systems and software technical support, the database management, as well as software installation and update. The complexities are not intimidating to him. He is able to implement a project and run within the prescribed deadlines, even if they are short. Possessing great problem-solving skills, senior advisor Sylvain Beaunoyer’s primary function is to ensure the integrity of all CA IDMS database. Sylvain Beaunoyer already held a position as lead CA IDMS database administrator for Revenu Québec, for nine years. Previously, he was a software application developer, for the same employer for 10 years.

With twenty years of experience in his field, Paul-André Dupuis enjoys working for Hera Evolution, since the company offers an innovative service. He has in fact always worked with innovative tools.

He began his career in a similar position for Info Innove company who sold an innovative dashboard indicator management development software. Then, he also previously worked in the same field for Multi-Sig. His experience enables him to target potential customers and to offer them a solution to their problems.

Hera Evolution team can count on the expertise of Andrew M. Garlick to manage the company’s U.S. division. From April 2013, the latter is the Chairman of Hera Evolution USA. His role? He works at the sales and business development level. He works in collaboration with Jean Guilbault and Pierre Lapointe of Hera Evolution Canada. He is also one of the partners of Hera Evolution USA

He is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Garlick Group, a consultancy firm specializing in IT governance management, complex systems implementation, project and program management, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to forming "The Garlick Group", he was Senior Vice-President, Business Systems, for WPP Group USA. He was responsible for the policy development and oversight of financial, HCM, and other business systems in North America for all the WPP Companies. He also served as the Group’s main Chief Information Officer (CIO) for WPP's Specialized Communications Group and WPP's Digital Group. 


He is also involved in several global initiatives such as the assessment of WPP’s IT infrastructures and costs at a global level, including the consolidation and outsourcing of WPP’s IT infrastructures, HR service and payroll systems.

Before that, he was Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Young & Rubicam, Inc.  His expertise? Managing from one end to the other a project pertaining to a complex business system. He gained his experience by working with major best-selling systems such as Oracle, People Soft, Microsoft Dynamics, Exacts, Lawson and Netsuite.

He has the reputation of designing and implementing systems that meet the needs of users. He is also an expert with perfect knowledge related to business data management tools.

He has been in the Advertising and Media industry for 25 years, working for Campbell-Ewald in Detroit in the 80's, and joining Young & Rubicam in 1993 as IT Director for North America.

He spent the first half of his career in Finance, including Treasurer of the University of Detroit and Controller of Campbell-Ewald Co, where he built and installed a number of financial systems. He then made a switch from finance to technology.

He is also expert in the non-profit sector. In addition to the 10 years he spent as Head Treasurer at the University of Detroit, he has served on numerous boards and was instrumental in helping the CYO Archdiocese of Detroit and the Michigan Performing Arts (Youth Theatre).  He has volunteered for several organizations including the United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

After his daughter was afflicted with a serious emotional disorder, in 2001, he founded the non-profit organization "The Family Support Organization of Bergen County" which provides education, support, and advocacy to parents and caregivers of children with mental, emotional, and behavioral problems. He is recognized as a powerful advocate for the family voice in Children's Mental Health, and has received a number of awards for his work in this area.

In addition to having an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Detroit, he also has a BA in Philosophy from the Sacred Heart Seminary and holds an MA in Classical Literature from Wayne State University and and holds a Certificate in College Business Mgmt. from the Univ. of KY.  He is both a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Human Resources Information Professional (HRIP).
